My buddy Devon (of numerous bands) is a talent and a half, not to mention a hoot and a half! Him and the fine folks with their names and logos on this poster are putting on a show like none other! He asked me to whip a poster up and I couldn’t refuse the opportunity to play with type. Tash McCammon, talented photographer, graciously allowed us to use her photo as the background. Check out the facebook page for the deets!
My sister and her beau have opened their own cafe restaurant! I am super proud of them… OBVI. In their words, they “want to bring cafe culture down under.” Recent residents of Montreal and with their new brand, they sure can put the EH… in Cafe! Ohhh hoo hoo.. #cheesypuns. If you find yourself in Adelaide, South Australia, check them out: The Annex Cafe. Word on the Canadian streets is that they have poetry/music nights, a piano, healthy meals & maple syrup. YUM.
Attended Vancouver Creative Mornings last week and the uber talented Jessica Hische lovingly ranted to the crowd about how fun and sexy techy-nerdy stuff can be. “Hey, remember how crazy it was, when you got the links to not be blue and underlined?” - Yes Jessica, that WAS a magical moment! She confirmed some things for me that I never should have questioned in the first place… such as a desire to learn things that seem unrelated to my job (but are actually super helpful so back off people) and that using proper terms is super overrated. I learned a ton and I wouldn’t have posted it here if I didn’t think you would too. So play-on play-ahs.
Last night, Boyfriend was looking at my website………
BF: Hey, I like thaaaat.
Me: Oh yah? It’s old.
BF: Yah, I do! Make me one?
Me: Okay. :)
Aaaand… here we are.
Going through old harddrives reveals old things. #LP
Who wouldn’t want to work with people who call themselves Spaceships and Laser Beams ?! This quick-to-grab-attention business specializes in DIY party decorations with boyish charm. I collaborated with founder and stylist Stephanie to create this Mad Scientist themed collection which she used for her very own grown-up party. What’s even more awesome then seeing the party supplies come together is that a percentage of sales is donated to the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Now that’s pretty party worthy in my books.
We Canucks have a bit of an issue up here with our government’s Proposed Online Spying Bill. Luckily, the fine folks over at OpenMedia.ca are trying to inform us about it. I collaborated with them on this Infographic in efforts to inform Canadians what would happen if Bill C-30 were to get passed. In the first 24 hours of it’s revealing, this graphic has been shared over 1000 times on Facebook, liked over 500 times, and commented on by over 150 people. These numbers are impressive, but with over 30 million people in Canada, this knowledge still has a long way to go. Learn more about how your privacy is at risk at StopSpying.ca
It’s never too late to brag! I’m still stoked I made it onto Refinery29’s blog for my slight Pinterest addiction. Thanks team R29! I adore this website so was super flattered to see my name on it! It’s a big claim to fame in my books. For shizzle.
